About the Event
As a physical education teacher for over 30 years for Delaware City Schools, and head coach for the varsity boy’s basketball team at Rutherford B. Hayes for 13 years, Larry Eberst constantly strived to better the Delaware community. He worked to instill confidence, passion, and teamwork into the lives of countless students through teaching and coaching. After he passed away, our family knew that we needed to continue his legacy so that his passion could be carried on. The Larry Eberst Memorial Scholarship Fund is a tribute to him and everything he stood for.
How Your Support Helps
All of the proceeds from the 5K run will go directly to the Larry Eberst Memorial Scholarship Fund. The annual $1,000 scholarship is meant to honor Larry by providing financial aid to a Rutherford B. Hayes senior who embodies the dedication, passion, and selflessness with which he served the Delaware community for so many years. Your participation will have an immense impact on the lives of local students, and ultimately the community as a whole!
